Common Polypody

Polypodium vulgare

A tough, evergreen fern that colonises walls, mossy banks, and tree roots with its leathery, deeply lobed fronds throughout the year. Remarkably tolerant of dry and shaded conditions, it brings persistent texture to difficult corners where little else will settle.
