Garden Pea
Pisum sativum
The garden pea is one of the great pleasures of a kitchen garden, sending up tendrilled stems adorned with delicate white or bicolored flowers before filling their pods with sweet, tender peas. Grow up pea sticks or a simple wigwam for support, and succession-sow from late winter to early summer for a continuous harvest.
