Silene dioica

Red campion is one of the most generous wildflowers of the British hedgerow, spangling woodland edges and shaded banks with vivid cerise-pink flowers from mid-spring right through summer. It naturalizes freely and makes an invaluable contribution to informal and wild-style plantings where self-seeding is welcomed rather than checked.
