Lily of the Valley

Convallaria majalis

A beloved woodland perennial that carpets shaded ground with paired, oval leaves and slender stems of tiny, intensely fragrant white bell-shaped flowers in late spring. Once established it spreads generously under deciduous trees, occupying difficult dry shade where few other plants will thrive.
