Calamagrostis x acutiflora 'Karl Foerster'

The cultivar that made upright grasses a design staple, 'Karl Foerster' sends feathery bronze-pink plumes skyward in early summer, stiffening to wheat-gold by autumn and holding their form through winter with exceptional rigidity. Its narrow, column-like habit creates strong vertical punctuation without occupying undue ground.
