Sea Thrift

Armeria maritima

Forming neat, grass-like cushions of dark green foliage, sea thrift produces cheerful, ball-shaped flower heads on slender wiry stems through late spring and summer. It thrives in exposed, coastal positions and sharply drained soils, bringing a charming naturalistic quality to the front of a sunny border or rock garden.
