Artillery plant earns its name from the explosive puff of pollen it releases when disturbed, but it is equally valued for its intricate, fern-like foliage of tiny, tightly packed bright green leaves. An appealing plant for shaded rockeries, terrariums, or the front of a sheltered border where its mossy texture provides fine-scale contrast.
