Mock Orange

Philadelphus coronarius

Mock orange is grown almost entirely for its intoxicating scent — the pure white, four-petalled flowers borne in early summer carry a rich orange blossom fragrance that can perfume an entire garden. As a structural shrub it performs reliably in partial shade and dry conditions, tolerating situations that defeat many others.
