Mexican Grass Tree
Dasylirion longissimum
Dasylirion longissimum is one of the finest architectural plants for a dry or Mediterranean garden, producing a dense fountain of extremely slender, unarmed olive-green leaves that can reach over a metre in length from its slow-forming trunk. The resulting silhouette — part palm, part ornamental grass — is unmistakably bold and works beautifully in gravel gardens or against stone.
