Water Hyssop

Bacopa monnieri

A low-growing, creeping perennial that carpets the margins of ponds and streams with small, fleshy leaves studded with tiny white flowers throughout summer. Long revered in Ayurvedic tradition as the herb Brahmi, it is equally valued in the contemporary water garden for its dense, spreading habit and tolerance of shallow standing water.
